Removing a starter motor from an engine is relatively straight forward. The more difficult part of the job can sometimes be getting to the bolts and nuts, or getting the starter out of the vehicle.
This blog is talking about the removal of a starter motor from an engine in general terms, it does not go into vehicle specific guides on how to access and remove all related parts.
First step,
Disconnect the negative battery terminal from the battery.
Next step,
Remove the nut holding the positive battery cable to the solenoid, and remove all cables from this stud. Remove any earth cables from the body of the starter. Remove the energize wire from the solenoid. This could involve unplugging it, or pulling it off its terminal, or unscrewing it.
Next step,
Undo all nuts and bolts holding the starter to the bellhousing/engine. There will usually be either 2 or 3 of these.
The starter will now be ready to remove.
